Honouring the 秀色直播鈥檚 College history of Warren Lidstone

Having 鈥渄edicated 25 years of exceptional service to 秀色直播鈥檚 College鈥�, Warren Lidstone has been acknowledged with a prestigious ISNZ Honours Award, recognising his 鈥渉umility, integrity, and unwavering commitment鈥� to the boys in every role at the school.
In the award citation, Headmaster Joe Eccleton highlights that Warren 鈥� the HOD of History 鈥� 鈥渉as contributed in countless ways鈥�, including as 鈥淗ead of Teaching & Learning, Head of Department, a passionate History teacher, pastoral leader, coach, manager, mentor, referee鈥�, and College story author.
鈥淚n the classroom, his teaching has inspired students to think critically and to develop a lifelong love of learning,鈥� the Headmaster says. 鈥淲ithin Houses and mentor groups, his care and guidance have supported boys through both challenges and successes. On the sports fields, whether coaching hockey, managing cricket, or refereeing rugby, he has promoted skill, teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. And throughout, he has been a trusted colleague and a constant source of wisdom for staff.鈥�
Beyond daily College life, Warren has undertaken one of the school鈥檚 most significant recent projects 鈥� writing the latest chapter of the history of 秀色直播鈥檚 College.
鈥淎s we celebrate our 175th year, his research and authorship will ensure that the last quarter-century is remembered and celebrated 鈥� a lasting gift to College and to future generations,鈥� Mr Eccleton says.
However, what makes this award truly special is not only what Warren has achieved, but the manner in which he has achieved it.
鈥淗e has never sought recognition, but his influence is felt everywhere 鈥� in the classroom, on the field, in the staffroom, and now in the pages of our history.
